Why a 25+ meme ?

Being a slightly older kpop and kdrama fan I (and a few others with me) always get a little disappointed by the friending memes.
Lots of 12-17ish year olds.  Nothing wrong with being that age (it's wonderful), but someone 25+ or even 35+ can get a bit
discouraged by it. At least that's how it is for me.
I suspect there might be lots of older fans, like me, who feel like that. If you're 25+ - 35+ you really don't have much in common with a
16 year old.That's a fact. It always keeps me from participating in the memes, thinking what's the use ?I'm thinking there might be more fans out there feeling the same way. So therefore the 25+ cut off. Also since this is a 25+ meme please only participate if you're in fact 25 or older !

Also this meme doesn't have a deadline. No need to comment within the first 5 mins after posting (though you're welcome to do so).
There's time zones and I assume most 25+ y.o. have college,work and families to deal with (that pesky real life !)

I can't deal with most girl groups because they're so... girly. After School was awesome (haven't heard much lately), and BEG I loved until they went utterly slutty (so disappointing). 2NE1 still rocks, though. I've been tempted by 4MInute just because they had the brilliance to put JungShin in an MV, and Secret seems cool. f(x) had a cool song, but I never actually followed up on that.

I think fanfiction is the reason I have fandoms. And I KNOW it's the reason I have biases (this was an epiphany I had a few months ago. It totally bowled me over, too).

Most of my dreams at that time were about horses. Just wanted one so badly....

AH! that's a good reason to like it.

I am all over the map. I'm a big fan of spy stuff (Alias/Spooks/24), but only when the spies aren't stupid (see: Athena). I kind of like romance, I'm not really big on horror. I ... like things with cute boys? Um, I used to be into Prince of Tennis, if that helps. (I am seriously all over the place, sorry, LOL)

I don't know which ones I have anymore, but I'll have to check when I get home. Though IDK if I can stop listening anything else except JJ Lin :-/

I saw it, right before I had to start work. I was watching it on my ipod and oh. my. god. I'm so glad I preordered the album. I need it in my life now, too. OMG.

I never realized how much working in a library is like working retail, but I'm really glad I worked in retail first. I don't envy you, working at Target. I worked in a department store (Younkers) and it sapped my life blood.

well detective wise, I'd reccomment Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de and Yukan Club...they're more comedies, but they're great fun...and Mr Brain's interesting...

a very beautiful drama I watched not too long ago was Voice with Eita and I think it was Ikuta Toma...it's a gorgeous show and I definitely recommend it

I totally understand what you're saying. Ugh, girl groups have issues everywhere and it makes me sad. I need to watch that 4Minute video just because he's in it .... I am also too lazy to get into most girl groups. Learning to tell SJ apart was hard enough! :P

I still can't figure out why my biases are who they are or how it happened. The only one I've ficced has been Sungmin. And I don't read any kpop fic, for whatever reason -- I think because the fandom outside of fic provides me with everything I need (as opposed to TSN or Avengers or Inception or Sports RPF). But that's what I like about fandom, is that we can all own it in our own ways. /meta

My sister went through that phase, too! My dad made the mistake of showing me This Boy's Life and I became a Leo fangirl. SIGH.

I'll have to write these down somewhere. Most of my exposure to Japanese movies/tv involves PoT, this soccer one I can't remember the name of and Miyazaki films. I have some learning to do, I think.

OMG. Sorry, I feel like we should be friends on the sole fact that you love JJ Lin. I bought the I AM dvd and when I got it, I nearly died. I haven't be able to get through the second half because when I'm watching it, I can't do anything else, it's so distracting.

You know, I am not quite sure why exactly I love IRIS so much, because the plot is nonsensical and the lead characters are kind of drab, but... THE NORTH KOREANS. Kim Seung Woo and Kim So Yeon totally made that drama for me (I was shipping them like crazy, which apparently isn't very common since everyone and their mother ships KSY's character with Lee Byung Hun's character). I did eventually fall in love with the lead characters, it just took awhile. But prior to IRIS I had only seen a few other k-dramas, so my memory of it may be more fond than it should be.

Perhaps KHJ's weirdness is what draws me to him. He is not really my type looks-wise, and his acting wasn't exactly good in either BOF or Playful Kiss, and yet... I can't stop being in love with him.

For me it's not so much laziness as no interest. It's all about the music first, and if it doesn't grab me, there's no point if learning the people. It took me three weeks to get SuJu down, so I get it.

On the other hand, I managed an all-blond B.A.P. in about two or three days. *gasp* Some sort of record, I think.

Oooh, SungMin is FUN. I'm more a fan of dark!Sungmin than the cutesy one, though.... But there's not much that will beat Yesung's utter fail. ^_^

I've only ever wanted to be a writer - I started writing fanfiction because I wanted to be a part of their world, you know? No matter who's world it was (Duran Duran, Def Leppard, BSB, Arashi... the list is long and varied, and totally needs to be updated).

I think, as far as Leo goes, it was The Man in the Iron Mask. Very likely. Because I LOVE The Three Musketeers.

Okay, so, I totally LOVE KSY's character. She's the best in the show, and I do like her NK partner. But I'm finding it impossible to like Lee Byung Hun, even though he's why I started watching it in the first place. I will admit to shipping KSY with Lee Byung Hun's character, but I could totally get over that. Is there are lot more of the North Koreans? Because that (and TOP, sigh) could get me to try to keep watching it. After all, I did drag myself through all of those episodes of Athena and I thought I might never watch another kdrama again after finishing it. SIGH.

I first saw him in BOF and didn't like his character at all and it actually put me off of ss501 (I'm so ashamed). But then my RL friend started watching him on WGM and realized that he's got all sort of social anxiety issues (like her and I both do) and that made her sort of start to like him a lot, which got me interested in him a bit more. And then we just watched more interviews with him (and I constantly send her pictures via googlereader of him, just to be mean, but they've apparently worn us both down) and he's just so awkward that it makes us love him more, I think. so much so that we're both currently debating watching his new (gah) drama when it airs.

There is a lot more of KSY, and her partner's role gets bigger too when she includes him in the plot to take down IRIS, but they don't get as much focus as the leads, sadly. But I do think the show gets better as it goes on.

Ugh, Athena. I tried with that one. I tried SO HARD, but I gave up after ep 12. I just couldn't stay awake while watching it, and that's a bad sign. But even with Athena all I cared about was the North Koreans. At least with IRIS I could understand the main love story. With Athena it just plain bugged me. I felt like the love story brought the show down, while with IRIS the love story actually elevated the show for me (you know, when they weren't actually together. For some reason I could only appreciate them when they were tragically separated).

I so need to see KHJ's eps of We Got Married.

The people who work at the vet where I take my cats are pretty cool. The first time I took Okyup in, the vet assistant gushed about what an interesting, unique name that was and where did I come up with it.

I keep thinking I should give the Sims 3 another chance. I've tried twice to play it but I just can't take the pudding faces! @_@ I keep thinking maybe if I download a bunch of CC first and then try to play again I'll be able to give it a fair shake, but I love the Sims 2 too much! XD Of course, my game's been giving me massive issues lately so maybe that's a sign to move on.

LOLOL OMG really? Sungmin is the only member of SuJu I actually love to death (I'm okay with Kangin and I have nothing against Kyuhyun or Yesung - I just don't care - and the rest I loathe). If I could just see Sungmin and none of the others I'd be happy. haha

LOL I understand, though. I don't remember how long it took me to get SJ down. I also remember having a lot of trouble with ss501, because in a lot of their earlier photoshoots, they all had the Same Hair. But I got over that pretty quickly, and then spent a week sending random ss501 pictures to my RL friend and making her figure which boy was which :D I think the only newish group I sort of know the same of would be NU'EST, but mostly I just want to whisk them away to somewhere safe, because they always look miserable.

I prefer dark!Sungmin as well. In fact, I strongly dislike it when he's forced to be cute. I wrote an Inception!AU with Sungmin and a zombie one that's never been posted anywhere (with a mention of Yesung).

I did a lot of reading, wrote some horrible Newsies Mary Sues and then discovered slash (again, via Newsies) and wrote the worst West Wing slash fic ever. I feel I've improved since then, LOL. I totally forgot about popslash, omg. I don't remember why I started writing, but I think it's awesome that you know why you did. And I understand wanting to be a writer, I harbor that secret dream (I long to write a YA novel).
